Kweku Aacht

Kweku is an interdisciplinary artist and learning and development practitioner.

He creates performance work by fusing dance theatre with live electronic music, singing and poetry. Kweku transfers his creative drive to his other specialisms which include: community development, customer service, conflict awareness, personal development and leadership.

Kweku is currently working on the soundtrack for a dance film by New World and new music for Vocab Dance Company.

As well as running deep:black, composing incredible music and performing Kweku works for Kaizen Partnership in the Olympic Delivery Authority's (ODA's) Construction Crew programme and is co-leading on the Waltham Forest Young Leaders Programme. He is a lead trainer for Leap Confronting Conflict, a volunteer mediator for Common Ground, diarist in residence at East London Dance and supports choreographers develop dancers’ performance tools, particularly around accessing emotion and intentionality.

A firm believer in the power of the individual to effect change, Kweku sees deep:black as powerful vehicle for building a community of focused, creative and proactive people.
