Performance-based events

riot:lyrics live: an explosive mix of spoken word, music and community action in response to the riots. The event was
developed in collaboration with Mind the Gap and took place at Rich Mix on 19 January 2012.

The evening was made up of a variety of performances in direct response to the riots as well as a deep:black facilitated session which encouraged audience members to generate ideas for taking action in their communities to prevent the riots happening again.

Hidden Archives: a performance based event developed for Hackney Museum's LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender) History Month in 2009, 2010 & 2011. The event is open to the public and brings together artists, members and friends of the LGBT community.

In response to a given theme the event is composed of 2 key elements: an artist-led performance followed by a deep:black facilitated instant art session that invites the guests to respond creatively to the performance and theme.

synthes:s: a site-specific, multi disciplinary performance-based event to celebrate London Week of Peace 2009.

Inspired by interviews with residents in Hackney Wick about the meaning of 'peace', a musician composed a soundscape that was then interpreted by a group of actors/dancers in a performance at Hackney Wick Festival.
